Brief

A week of complete solace, away from everything and anything that has consumed us, caving, trekking, bird watching, rappelling and camping in a village lesser known. A week to experience a different culture and lifestyle and not to be consumed, we are glad to offer you an opportunity to experience a place you will fall in love with. Chakrata, 93 kms from Dehruaun in the Uttarakhand state of India provides you with this rare chance. A tour specially crafted for the classes who love to explore lesser known destinations away from places overloaded with travelers and blaring horns. Surely an experience good enough to snap us out of our humdrum existence.

Accommodation

Hotel Himalayan Paradise is a very cozy and comfortable hotel with basic amenities, the rooms are well furnished, the service and food is very homely and the view is great. The hotel provides 24 hours hot and cold running water and they have 09 well furnished rooms and one 12 bedded dormitory. The rooms have heaters and very warm bedding is provided. The hotel would not be having luxuries like Satellite TV connections in all the rooms etc.

We recommend a minimum 03 nights stay at Chakrata, this will give you enough time to relax and also experience the below mentioned activities. All the destinations mentioned in the activities below are at a distance of 15 to 20 Km from the hotel, so there would not be excess traveling once in Chakrata. We do not have a fixed itinerary and we let you to pick, choose and design your own itinerary from the below mentioned options. Once the itinerary and daily scheduling is finalized we shall send you the final package cost. Chakrata is a destination where you could choose not to do any activities and would like to laze it out at the resort, read a book, sleep may be or explore the village by yourself, in this case we would provide you with services of arrival and departure transfers from Dehradun and accommodation at our suggested hotel with all meals.

Schedules and activities

On arrival at Dehradun, assistance of our representative and transfer to Chakrata approximately 3 hours drive through the hills. On arrival at Chakrata check in to hotel Himalayan Paradise. Afternoon is at leisure to acclimatize with the surroundings and altitude of 2270 meters above sea level. In the evening visit Chakrata market and surrounding village to understand the lifestyle and economy of the region

On the subsequent days you have the option of covering following destinations. We are not planning to have a fixed itinerary or every day scheduling. All the activities shall be decided one day prior keeping in mind the climate and feasibility :-

Kanasar – A great camping site surrounded by deodar forest. If you choose we could arrange a camp here in the night and will have campfire and local folk dance. For camping we will need a guaranteed minimum number, for details please contact us for customization

Tiger Falls – A nice trek which goes almost all the way along the stream in a valley which leads us to Tiger Fall.

Budher Cave – The most unique experience of the tour is ‘caving’. In India, unlike trekking, caving is hardly an explored area. We will crawl in this cave to see how it is inside the womb of Mother Earth. On a clear day one should get a very good view of snow capped peaks from here.

Nearby villages – Tidy and neatly organized villages are a treat to watch. Clean and compact houses built out of deodar wood.

Apart from this, moderately challenging activities like rock climbing and rappelling could also be included. Interested people can participate in optional bird watching excursions in the early mornings. Foodies will have an opportunity to taste local cuisine for the breakfast.

Please note.

  • This whole tour is high on experience and low on luxury.

  • Chakrata is a destination which is cut of and far from the maddening cities. The nearest petrol pump is 50 Km away. All activities will require uphill and downhill walking.

  • For traveling purposes, vehicles in the category of Sumo or Bolero shall be provided. Each vehicle will have maximum 6 passengers and a driver.

  • Those interested in bird watching should ideally carry a binocular.
